About Us
The Internal Affairs Division is responsible for maintaining integrity and accountability within the Highway Patrol. This division conducts impartial investigations into officer misconduct, use-of-force incidents, and violations of department policy. IA operates independently from standard patrol operations to ensure neutrality and fairness. Officers assigned to IA are expected to uphold the highest ethical standards, safeguard confidentiality, and promote a culture of professionalism throughout the department. Knowledge:
Proficient knowledge in the English Language
Proficient knowledge and Understanding of SAHP SOP
Proficient knowledge of department COC Policies
Proficient knowledge of Documentation standards
Minimum Ability Requirements:
Clean Disciplinary Record
Proficient knowledge in report writing
Ability to keep information Confidential
Must be able to complete an interview and screening process
Must be committed in upholding ethical standards
Detective Division
About us
The Detective Division handles complex and high-profile investigations that go beyond standard patrol capabilities. Detectives are responsible for solving serious crimes such as armed robberies, organized criminal activity, vehicle theft rings, and officer-involved incidents. They conduct interviews, gather evidence, build case files, and work closely with prosecutors to ensure charges are supported by strong investigative work. This division demands critical thinking, attention to detail, and a deep knowledge of criminal law. Canine Operations Division
About Us
The Canine Division is a specialized unit within the Highway Patrol Bureau of Investigations that supports patrol officers and detectives through the use of trained police dogs. K-9 teams are deployed for tasks such as narcotics detection, suspect tracking, area searches, and officer protection. Each K-9 handler is paired with a certified dog trained for specific duties, ensuring fast, precise, and tactical responses in high-risk situations. Ability to train your Canine even while not on duty
Must be able to take your Canine Home.
